I am Universe.

Three months ago, I was very me, but very much not me.
Two years ago, I could say the same.
I'll probably say something similar at least three more times in my life. Maybe four.
I feel really great lately.

In list format, here are some things that I'm feeling good about.

-Productivity is up 75% bringing me to 80% productivity.
-Shot the teaser for Deep River called; A Real Good Job. It premieres this week on the website www.deepriverseries.com
-Been having alot of fun with Paul and Melody working on Skitzo. The first episode premieres April 1st, 2009. Check it out at: www.skitzotv.com
-I made good on some wrongs.
-My first love and I, after having a very brief emotional hiatus are now back to what we are naturally: Best friends. I'm even letting her in my locker.
-I've been spending more time with my dad. I bought him The Wire complete series for Christmas and we've been watching that.
-I, along with some friends, finished our 11th week of our Star Trek movie marathon. We met every Wed night to have some drinks (maybe a smoke) and watch every movie. Some were bad. some were good. All of this leading up to the new prequel film.
-I've met a girl, a girl that I think I'm really falling for. The butterflies, the motivation for romance, the 'I hope my body doesn't react like a 14 year old' and the 'I want to do good for you' feelings are all present.
-Aside from shooting Skitzo, I've been hanging out with Melody and Paul alot. So I suppose its safe to assume they are new friends in my life. So I feel I've been keeping good company.
-Jay is still a douchebag, but easily one of my best friends.
-The Star Trek experience has also brought my closer to the Derek and Byron, to which I've felt have drifted in the past months.
-I gave my amazing cat; Samson, to my grand parents because their cat died and they loved Samson Smarty Pants.
-I relocated my 'editing workspace' which happens to me in my mothers 'living homespace' back into my bedroom. I got a new desk and I'm really, really enjoying the new environment and privacy. Plus I can listen to music alot louder without disturbing the peace.
-I'm going to see Prodigy next week.
-I'm going to be busy with corporate shoots, wine videos, two web series and a possible IMAX projectionist job this summer.
-I've started running again.
-I've quit smoking.
-I feel great and I strongly feel alot my good feelings are attributed to the act described in the previous point.

I guess that's a pretty thorough update on your humble narrator.

Start the New Year Laughing

Firstly, I've updated my website (www.adam-stephenson.com)
This time it's more Adam-friendly. What that means is it doesn't take a week to update a few little things. I don't care for HTML design anymore and don't want to spend any more time on it than say, the amount of time to write a blog.

So here's what's going on...

Deep River
This is a new web series that Jay and I are digging into. It's not really that new at all, Jay has started it many years ago (100 I think?) and we have shined some light into the darkest possible place to make one kickass story. We have held auditions and have production meetings on the horizon.

Skitzo
The concept and enjoyment of this show sort of happened out of nowhere. During the auditions Jay and I were accompanied by Paul Fedj and Melody Sargent. They have been getting involved with Deep River as well as other projects. Anyways, being two very comedic cats, they started goofing around during our downtime. I flipped the little handicam on and started rolling. Paul and Melody had a project they needed to rehearse which was: Barefoot in the Park.
Well one joke rolled to the next and we decided to take it back to my place and add interviews and character building scenes to what we captured. We used our Canon HD camera so the two footage formats makes for a neat docu/mocku style.
Truth be told, we laughed our asses off editing it. So, we did another one the following week. Then another the following. Now we've decided to make a series out of it and it's called Skitzo.
There will be a homepage for the show with episodes being released weekly. Hopefully, it will build a fanbase and go from there. Seems to have some interest from friends etc.

We have captured alot of footage and are slowly bringing it fruitition.

That's what's going on right now.
Stay tuned.

A decade ago....

10 years ago, I would have been 13.
I was into computers and music.
10 years is a long time.
In those 10 years I've accumulated some music in the mp3 format, vinyl format and cd format.
I just reached my 30,000th mp3.

They're all pretty much organized too.

Wow.

Bastard & Deep River

Been busy and excited for several new productions Jay and I have in the works.
Bastard is a screenplay I wrote about a man who (through time travel) is his own mother and father.
Deep River is a new series that Jay had going years ago and has been idle. We've breathed some life into it.. more life than theDead to say the least.

So we're doing auditions next Thursday the 15th at Niagara College. Check here for details.

Teaser for Deep River can be found here.

"Nothing lasts, and what a shame it is."

If I will,
one thing that Benjamin Button did; was stick to its theme.
This was a film that knew what it was, and stuck with its thematic choice.
For me, it made it very enjoyable.

The soundtrack is also very nice.

Egg Nog and Grand Marnier

It's been a busy little while.
Rob, Jay and I completed a video for a foundation called ROCK. It turned out really slick. We need to charge more for our services cause I'm feeling pretty proud of what we did.
I'm especially proud of the sound restoration that I achieved. The wind was hurting our mics and the peaks were going nuts. I read a bit online and got it to sound good. So, good.

I really love it when people enjoy work that I've been involved with.
I sent out all the Christmas DVD's and alot of people enjoyed them.

Weird feelings here and there about people, social situations, creativity, productivity, love, past relationships, future endeavors, current everything. Sometimes you learn on hindsight when someone isn't right for you. Sometimes you end up being the bad guy no matter what you do.
Nowadays, even cutting lose and just closing a chapter after trying to be the nice guy doesn't always work.

Life is a neat thing.
I think I'll keep at it.

Christmas

So it has been an engaging past few months.
I have focused more and more on being productive towards writing and editing.
I'm excited for Christmas.

I manifested a big project as an act of friendship to the people that matter to me.
Check those mailboxes.
I probably won't respond to any thank you's however.
A cave is the only place I can write in.
A cave that plays one song over and over and over and over again.
The mood changes, the artist changes the song remains the same.

Well,
Merry Christmas.
